HAASE AND GROSJEAN ROLL INTO THE BMWTC FINAL

(Sunrise, FL) – Rain interrupted play on Saturday and Sunday at the BMW Tennis Championship – causing the final to be shifted for the first time to Monday. But a good number of die-hard fans stayed to see some awesome tennis action between the downpours. By the end of Sunday all semi-finals had been completed. The score in the singles final was 5-4, with Robin Haase in front serving at 15-40, when ATP officials stopped play and eventually cancelled play for the day.

SEMI-FINAL: SEBASTIEN GROSJEAN (FRA) vs JURGEN MELZER (AUT)

No.6 seed Sebastien Grosjean took on lefty Austrian Jurgen Melzer inSaturday’s first semi-final match. \Formerly ranked in the 20s, Melzer is now at 85 due to some injury problems last year. He beat Marat Safin in the first round of Indian Wells this year, then lost to No. 11 Andy Murray. Grosjean, currently ranked 52, lost in the first round of the Pacific Life Open to Robin Soderling.

SEMI-FINALS SET FOR SATURDAY GONZALEZ UPSET BY AUSSIE

(Sunrise, FL) – The tournament’s number one seed, world No. 12 Fernando Gonzalez, is out of the BMW Tennis Championship – defeated by Australia’s Chris Guccione. Sebastien Grosjean is the only remaining seed in the semi-finals, joined by today’s other quarter final winners Jurgen Melzer and Robin Haase.

Sunrise, FL) – Three more top seeds made it through today at the BMWTC, joining No. 5 Janko Tipsarevic and No. 6 Sebastian Grosjean in the second round.

FERNANDO GONZALEZ (CHI) vs EVGENY KOROLEV (RUS)World No. 12 and top seed Fernando Gonzalez opened with a definitive win over the 95-ranked Russian who beat him a couple of weeks ago in the round of sixteen at the Tennis Channel Open. The two have played twice – with Gonzalez taking him out in the first round of the Australian Open last year.

WILD CARDS FOR BMW INCLUDE #12 FERNANDO GONZALEZ

Gonzo(Sunrise, FL)– Current ATP #12 Fernando Gonzalez has accepted a wild card into the BMW Tennis Championship at Sunrise, Florida. The other three wild cards are Dominik Hrbaty, Jarkko Niemenen and Kei Nishikori.
